The overview is based on official team announcements and the summaries by RacingNews365 and The Race as of 15 October 2026.

The only transfer so far: Câmara replaces Ocon

Haas announced on 15 October 2026 that Rafael Câmara will be one of its race drivers from 2027 on a multi-year contract. The 21-year-old Brazilian is a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, won Formula 3 in 2025 with Trident and was leading Formula 2 at the time of the announcement. In August he tested an older Haas car at Portimão.

Esteban Ocon leaves Haas after the 2026 season. He described himself as a free agent for 2027 and said he would also accept a reserve role. His destination has not been confirmed.

The second Haas seat is expected to stay with Oliver Bearman, but his continuation has not been officially announced – the team holds an option on him.

Who has signed a new contract

  • Max Verstappen – on 20 August 2026, ahead of his home Dutch Grand Prix, Red Bull announced an extension until the end of 2030. His previous contract ran until the end of 2028.
  • Isack Hadjar – on 23 September 2026 Red Bull confirmed he stays alongside Verstappen in 2027. The Frenchman had missed three races (Netherlands, Italy and Spain) with a wrist injury, with Liam Lawson standing in.
  • Lando Norris – contracted to McLaren until at least 2030. Oscar Piastri has a contract to the end of 2028.
  • Lewis Hamilton – his continuation at Ferrari for 2027 was officially confirmed by team principal Frédéric Vasseur on 3 July 2026. Charles Leclerc has a long-term contract, extended in 2026.
  • Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon – Williams confirmed both drivers for 2027 ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix.
  • Franco Colapinto – new Alpine contract before the 2026 Italian Grand Prix. Pierre Gasly is contracted to the end of 2028.
  • Fernando Alonso – after speculation about retirement, he decided to race on in 2027. Lance Stroll stays alongside him.

What is not yet confirmed

Mercedes: Russell and Antonelli

Mercedes has not officially announced its 2027 line-up. In June 2026 team principal Toto Wolff said the team does not plan to change its drivers, and George Russell said he would be racing for Mercedes next year. According to The Race, both drivers have multi-year contracts with options. Until an official announcement, we list both seats as unconfirmed.

Racing Bulls: two open seats

Red Bull's sister team is the only one without a single confirmed driver. In 2026 it runs Liam Lawson and rookie Arvid Lindblad, with Yuki Tsunoda as Red Bull's reserve driver. Red Bull traditionally favours drivers from its own junior academy.

Audi and Cadillac

At Audi, team principal Mattia Binotto confirmed in September 2026 that Nico Hülkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto are contracted for 2027; according to The Race, no separate press announcement has been made. At Cadillac, Sergio Pérez and Valtteri Bottas have multi-year contracts from 2026; RacingNews365 lists them as confirmed for 2027.

What to watch in the coming weeks

  • Racing Bulls: the decision on both seats is the biggest open question of the remaining silly season. Current drivers and Red Bull juniors are in contention; no names have been officially confirmed.
  • Mercedes: the line-up announcement looks like a formality, but until then it is an expectation, not a fact.
  • Haas and Bearman: the decision on taking up the option on Bearman is still pending. When choosing Ocon's successor, Haas also evaluated Leonardo Fornaroli, Ryo Hirakawa and Jack Doohan, according to team principal Ayao Komatsu.
  • Esteban Ocon: a free agent who could be interested in one of the open seats or a reserve role.

How to read the table above: “confirmed” means an official team announcement or a clear statement by the team principal; “unconfirmed” means it is so far only an expectation or a media report.

What has changed compared with 2026

Team 2026 2027
Haas Ocon, Bearman Câmara, Bearman (unconfirmed)
Racing Bulls Lawson, Lindblad unconfirmed
all other teams unchanged (Mercedes not yet officially announced)
