Helmet models – Rossi, Alonso and more
A helmet is a rider's most personal piece of kit – many change the design for individual races. That is why helmet models are popular with collectors: they recall a specific race, season or test. The collection includes helmet models from MotoGP and Formula 1.
Valentino Rossi
Most models belong to Valentino Rossi, nine-time world champion (seven premier-class titles), who retired from MotoGP after the 2021 season. The range covers different stages of his career: Brazil 1999 (Jacarepaguá), Valencia 2005, Ducati 2012, Sepang tests in 2012 and 2020, the 2018 winter test, Mugello 2014 and 2018 and Misano 2021. For his home race at Mugello Rossi traditionally wore a special design – in 2018 a version of his sun-and-moon motif in the colours of the Italian tricolore. The models are made by Minichamps and VR46. All are in MotoGP rider helmet models, more Rossi merchandise in Valentino Rossi.
Formula 1
Spark makes F1 driver helmet models in 1:5 scale – for example Fernando Alonso's helmet from the Silverstone 2024 special edition or Adrian Sutil's 2014 helmet. Helmets of current drivers are in F1 driver helmet models and in F1 Drivers.
Scale and display
Helmet models come in various scales, most often 1:2, 1:4, 1:5 or 1:8 – the scale of each piece is given in the product description. A 1:5 model fits in your palm, while 1:2 is a striking shelf piece. Keep them away from direct sunlight and dust, ideally in the original box or a display case.
Frequently asked questions
Do helmet models make good gifts?
Yes, for collectors and fans of a specific rider – there is no size to worry about and the model recalls a specific race. More ideas are in our MotoGP gift ideas guide.
Are these real helmets?
No, they are scaled-down collectable models made for display, not for wearing.
